My favourite photo (of so many absolute delights!) - Penelope and Vince
Vince and Penelope married in May on a glorious sunny day in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, near to Lake Windermere. Wedding photographer Jon Rouston captured all the wonderful details of their day and I was over the moon when he told me Vince and Penelope would be happy to see their day on English Wedding.
The countryside atmosphere of the day is inspired and beautifully realised, with bunting and handmade signs, traditional English outdoor games and even a cake competition, with judges and rosettes!

Penelope and Vince share a quiet moment. Even the old stone walls have such character.
Alternative wedding seating plan. So much care and attention to detail went into this wedding day.
Beautiful wedding marquee decorated for the countryside!

Vintage crockery always looks pretty.
My favourite bit - the wedding cake competition!! This takes me back to my childhood, such a fantastic idea for a wedding as well.
A winning wedding cake with bluey purple hydrangeas, complete with rosette!
After judging, the 'best cake made by a boy' - excellent!
Wedding guests love the outdoor games - skittles is a classic
The world's strongest man looks delighted with his win!!!
The world's strongest bride and groom hit the jackpot!
Vince just got married. :-)
A beautiful portrait on Windermere's jetty. Penelope has the prettiest smile.
A wonderful wedding photo: Penelope and Vince at Lake Windermere. Penelope's dress is so lovely, with the ruched fabric and halterneck style, she looks absolutely amazing.
The silvery sky adds magic to this lovely portrait of the bride and groom.
A parting shot: The wedding marquee looks welcoming as evening falls
As I grew up in the Lake District I simply couldn’t resist blogging this beautiful day. Every detail is perfect, and the theme reminds me so much of our annual village fair. I hope you love this as much as I do.
Thanks to wedding photographer Jon Rouston for sharing this wedding with us today. It’s the perfect inspiration for a countryside wedding day, brilliantly done and beautifully photographed.
